My German Book Cover—Shadow Killer shadow killer

I¹m thrilled to share my German book cover, the German translation of NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM. My German publisher, Blanvalet, is a notable division of the prestigious Random House and they added the sensational title of Shadow Killer. I love this cover. The book is set for release in March 2009 and is available for pre-sale at Amazon.de now.

Book Club News

GREAT NEWS! Bertelsmann Direct North America has bought Jordan Dane's 3-book debut series—NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM, NO ONE LEFT TO TELL, and NO ONE LIVES FOREVER—as featured alternates in the Doubleday, Mystery Guild and the Rhapsody Book Clubs. Every year, they evaluate over twenty thousand manuscripts from publishers and select two thousand or so for use in their various clubs.

Jordan's books will be printed in hardcover for exclusive distribution to club members. And her debut series will be promoted in a club magazine containing book reviews, exclusive features, and special promotions. These clubs offer a vast selection of the latest in best selling novels that include mysteries, thrillers, suspense, romance and other genres.

"No One" Series Has A Face

And Back To Back Never Looked So Good—Judging a book by its cover is not normally the thing to do, but with the beautiful stepback covers Avon has designed for this series, I'd say go right ahead. Click on the link below the covers on each book page (NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM, NO ONE LEFT TO TELL, and NO ONE LIVES FOREVER) to catch a look at the inside artwork. And seeing the foil covers in your hands is even better. Trust me.

Audio Rights SOLD—Can You Hear Me Now?

GREAT NEWS! Blackstone Audio has secured the unabridged retail and library audio rights (including digital audio) for author Jordan Dane's No One Heard Her Scream (Avon release April 2008) and No One Left to Tell (Avon release May 2008) for the U.S. and Canada.

My First Review

I've never gotten a professional review of my work, so as you might imagine, I was sweating it—especially Publishers Weekly. They are big and the publishing industry is very much aware of their review presence. But I received my PW review this weekend and I couldn't be more thrilled to be compared to the likes of some of my favorite authors—Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Tami Hoag. And I wanted to share the good news with you, my friends.

Publishers Weekly, 12/10/2007

No One Heard Her Scream
Jordan Dane. Avon, $6.99 (384p) ISBN 978-0-06-125278-5
"...a dynamite debut... Dane's smooth style, believable characters and intense pacing will remind readers of Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Tami Hoag. While Dane's debut is being marketed as romantic suspense, it crosses over into plain thriller country: the tight plotting and the male characters are exceptional, bad guys and good."

Killer Site

Jordan has been a firm believer in the talent of her website designer Madeira James at xuni.com so she entered a website contest and GREAT NEWS!

JD's website WON the 2007 Silver Rose Award for Website Excellence (Professionally Created Category) sponsored by the Sacramento Valley Rose chapter of the Romance Writers of America. The focus of this unique contest is on promotion. Each site was judged on effectiveness as a marketing tool, ease of navigation, aesthetics, and creative use of design technique. Winners were announced in December 2007.

Special thanks to the judges and contest coordinators at RWA's Sacramento Valley Rose chapter.

First Kill

Ah, they say you never forget your first and I'm here to tell you that's exactly right.

The International Thriller Writers have adopted a Debut Authors Program affectionately known as "First Kill", just another great benefit to being an ITW member. "Virgin" authors get one chance at launching their debut book, because once the ship sails, it is gone, baby. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the maiden voyage of First Kill.

Under the guidance of talented New York Times bestseller Lee Child, the ITW Debut Authors Program provides a forum for mutual support and expert help for first time authors from published ITW members. It also offers the opportunity for extra exposure on the ITW website's Debut Author Page, at national conferences, and during ITW's own ThrillerFest conference.

And come check out our newly minted First Kill blogs at Crimespace and MySpace. Plus, ITW has generously provided a Debut Authors page on their website to showcase the program and its authors.

First Foreign Sale

Great News! Avon has secured my first foreign rights sale to Blanvalet, a division of Random House. All three books in my first series will be translated into German to be published abroad by this fantastic house. Sprechen Sie Deutsch? (My husband thinks this is an early indication his next car should be a BMW. What a guy!)

Another 3-Book Series Sold

Jordan Dane sold another 3-book series to Avon HarperCollins, negotiated by literary agent Meredith Bernstein. A good deal! No release dates or book titles as yet. Stay tuned. More to come!

An illusive web of imposters on the Internet lures a deluded teen from her Alaskan home and launches a chain reaction collision course with an unlikely tangle of heroes. This is the initial driver to a new 3-book series from suspense author Jordan Dane and Avon HarperCollins. With an international setting, these romantic thrillers will focus on the lives and loves of three women--a bounty hunter operating outside the law, an ambitious vice cop, and a former international operative with a mysterious past.

Interviews

Want to learn more about Jordan and the shadowy world that keeps her up nights? Check out these interviews:

On September 13, 2007, host Jacqueline Sue interviewed JD on Internet Voices Radio. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness month, Jackie Sue featured JD as an author whose work moves toward the elimination of violence against women. Highlighting her strong female characters, Jordan talks about her first 3-book series with Avon in 2008 and her book research on topics such as online predators (the new 'hunting' ground) and human trafficking (the modern day slave trade).

On August 1, 2007, Host Lillian Caldwell interviewed JD on Internet Voices Radio about her upcoming 2008 Avon book releases.

First Sale Announcement

Jordan Dane sold a three-book deal in auction to Avon with back to back release dates set for April-June 2008. Acquiring editor Lucia Macro is planning a marketing effort behind the releases. Best selling author Sharon Sala generously opened some very big doors for Jordan after she read No One Heard Her Scream as part of the OK RWA Finish the Book Incentive Program. Sharon is an amazing woman.

And another shining star, literary agent Meredith Bernstein, walked through Sharon's open door. With Meredith's super human powers, she can leap tall buildings in a single bound wearing Manolo Blahnik shoes and Prada. A very nice deal!
