Scorsese Move Over! How to Make Your Own Book Trailer and Save Money By Jordan Dane Book trailers cost money if you get a third party to do them. And there's no easy way to know whether having a book trailer actually results in sales. But if you do your first book trailer(s) for free or for low budget (as a new author), then the cost is mainly a little of your time. And they can be fun to do. Because I had microsoft on my computer, I was able to add microsoft moviemaker to my software for free. The program is intuitive and easy to work with. The biggest part of your time will be spent looking for royalty free images or sound effects or music to use. And below are a few links to get you started as well as a link to download moviemaker and instruction on how to use the program too. After you have a book trailer you like, load it into Youtube. From there, others will come see it if you set it for public viewing. You can also mail out or post the link to your trailer from Youtube OR you can copy the embed code of your Youtube book trailer and post the code on other spotslike blogs or websites. I sometimes do spoofs too. Once you know how to put together your own video, it's addictive and fun. Try it!
